Striped Marlin Welcome Us Back
The port captain reopened Cabo San Lucas on October 5 after Hurricane Rachel, and the striped marlin were waiting for us. On Friday morning, October 9, the crew on the 32 ft Oh! Right brought this striper aboard for a quick photo with two very happy anglers in deep blue water. Earlier in the week our boats found stripers at Los Arcos on Tuesday and released two more on Wednesday. After two weeks of storms, it sure felt good to see the fleet back in the game.

Cabo by Yacht in Tournament Season
October is the busiest stretch of the year in the Cabo marina, with Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore and the Black and Blue bringing the big sportfishers to town. A private yacht is the best seat in the house: cruise past Land's End and the Arch, swim and snorkel at Santa Maria or Chileno Bay, and watch the tournament boats run home at sunset.
Our Cabo yacht fleet has about 35 yachts from 38 to 116 ft, from easy day boats to fully crewed superyachts. Tell us your group size and date, and we will match you with the right boat.

Bull Dorado at 8:33 AM in Cabo
Dorado were the story of the week, so here is one of our favorite Shorts: a bull dorado on the deck at 8:33 in the morning off Cabo. Short, loud, and a good reminder of why we love fall fishing.

Cabo Tournament Calendar
Bisbee's week is here. Here is what is on the water this fall, from Cabo to Mag Bay.
Lands End boats have cashed the big ones: 1st Place Bisbee’s Black & Blue (2014), 2nd Place (2015), and Tuna Jackpot money since. We’ll put you on a proven boat and crew.
Around Baja
- Cabo SunHurricane Simon steers clear of Los Cabos Read →
Simon turned toward Jalisco and Puerto Vallarta, leaving Los Cabos with sunny skies and the airport running normally. Expect some leftover swell and the odd red flag on the beaches, and if you connect through Puerto Vallarta or Guadalajara, keep an eye on your flight.
- Gringo GazetteDorado stay a sport fish in Baja Sur for a third year Read →
State lawmakers have kept dorado reserved for sport fishing, with no new push to open it to commercial boats since 2023. Good news for everyone who loves that fight, and for the roughly 31,000 Cabo jobs the article ties to sport fishing.
- Gringo GazetteLoreto in the spotlight as a Pueblo Magico Read →
Baja Sur's tourism secretary is putting Loreto front and center: a 1697 Jesuit mission, a national marine park just offshore, and a slower pace than the Cabo corridor. Loreto is next on the Lands End Charters map, so we read every word.
